VLADI RADMANOVIC’S “CROSSING OCEANS FOR CHILDREN” DINNER AND AUCTION RAISES $30,000 FOR DISPLACED AND ABANDONED CHILDREN

SANTA MONICA – Over 150 fans and supporters packed Hidden Restaurant in Santa Monica on Thursday, November 6th to help Los Angeles Lakers forward Vladi Radmanovic raise more than $30,000 for Five Acres and IOCC during the annual Vladi Radmanovic “Crossing Oceans for Children” Dinner and Auction.

Proceeds from the event will help fund vocational training programs and provide school supplies, health kits and other assistance to children living in Serbian orphanages or protective housing in LA County.

Over 15 Lakers players and coaches participated in the event as table captains, along with the Laker Girls.  Lakers Play-by-Play announcer Spero Dedes emceed the evening’s activities.

“I am so grateful to my teammates, our sponsors and everyone that contributed to making this year’s event so successful,” said Radmanovic who established his foundation in 2006. “The people in this community are the most generous I have ever been around.  I know next year’s will be even bigger.”

The evening included a music by Milan Vidovich and a dance performance by the Avala Folklore Ensemble, a Serbian Dance Troupe.    Maria Pincu was the winner of the Lucky Ping-Pong Ball Drawing receiving Vladi Radmanovic’s Four Laker seats to any home game, Dinner at Angeles Restaurant atop the downtown L.A.’s Wells Fargo Building and Limo Service.

A framed, photo signed by Laker teammates Pau Gasol, Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum was the top draw at the auction, raising $2,000.  A School Assembly with Vladi Radmanovic brought in $1,400.

Other auction items included: Dinner with Vladi Radmanovic; A signed Pau Gasol Framed Jersey; a Basketball Clinic with Vladi Radmanovic at the LA Lakers Training Facility.

The mission of the Vladi Radmanovic Children’s Foundation is to assist organizations that aid children who have been abandoned by their families or removed from their homes for their own protection.
